pianoman 3,589
Hi Gentleman. After a lifetime of springer shooting I've actually seen this PCP and I really have been swayed by its classical sporting rifle looks. Seems some lovely walnut stocks are available for it. Andy's AAR made a great review of one Would love to own a rifle like this if if can deliver the goods at decent hunting ranges. The best to you. Pianoman. Quote Link to post
forest of dean redneck 11,849
I have a dreamline classic which is similar there’s YouTube videos of them doing decent distances . They are easy to operate though tad long in length , magazines are but fiddly to load pellets into . I don’t know if the drs is the same ? 1 Quote Link to post

I'll have a look at your gun. I'll never give up springer shooting but these PCPs are looking seriously shootable to my taste. Thanks for letting me know mate all the best! Quote Link to post

philpot 5,066
Hello Simon, so good to see you on here again as it seems a long time ago mate, hope you are keeping well my friend. To the matter in hand, my shooting buddy has both the .177 and .22 in FX DRS and love them. I have had a few shots with them on our range and I was quite impressed with accuracy. I can't remember the distance but I think it was 40yds using the .177, he bought the .22 later. As a sub 12 gun and cheaper than both the HW 100 and 110 so good value for money from the FX stable. It must be said that I called in an RFD in the Scarborough area who told me that he didn't sell them any more because of the problems with the barrel being inside the air cylinder, I think he said power loss and inaccuracy were the issues but I may be wrong however my local rfd cannot get them in fast enough and has not had any issues at all and neither has my pal had any problems. I was thinking of one in .25 fac but felt that shot count would be limited. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,823
Nice to see an old friend back on here again And a very good springer god to boot As much as we love our spring guns PCP,s creap into our lives and can make the Worst shot make him feel he is a top class sniper they are that easy to shoot But unlike the springer where All you need is a pocket full of pellets rufle on ur back And go,,,,you need air tanks,,,,and the like Before you go shooting Now the DRS has its problems ,,,,mags,,, accuracy A mate has one and he had it for 2to3 weeks before problems started to come to creep up Worst one is accuracy In the end it was sent back turns out there All fitted with the fac barrel Not an issue if you have a fac certificate But they do not work in sub 12 IN the end fx sent a sub 12 barrel And he has had 0 issues with it at all But iv got my eye on one but I'm waiting on them All being fitted with a sub 12 barrel before I get one Give Helen my love my friend And the best to you both Simon ATVB JIMMY The one I'm waiting for simon 1 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,066 Posted Monday at 12:52 Report Share Posted Monday at 12:52 Following this conversation on a bit further and I have just had a chat with my rfd who advised me that they HAVE had a few with issues although he did not say what happened so not quite as faultless as it first seemed. pianoman 3,589 Posted Tuesday at 17:59 Author Report Share Posted Tuesday at 17:59 Dear Jimmy and Phil. Lovely to see you both here. Jimmy we send our love to you and Nicola. And to you Phil. Helen fondly remembers our day at our place shooting in our garden. Oh Christ this FX DRS! Now you lads say there are faults with barrel accuracy and the air cylinder wrapped around it. I want the top grade walnut, too! Not cheap at over £1,000 asking for it. You know I have the greatest respect for your opinions on kit like this. I hate falling in love with a superb looking, beautifully-stocked gun only to start reading and hearing of primary faults with it. And it really ticks the box for me. My spring rifles are my absolute first love, as you both know, even after many years passed now shooting with them. I can still print a one-hole group of any number of shots with my Pro Sport. 22, Diana Mauser 97K .177 HW77 .22 and HW80.22. My HW77 itself has consistently proved itself an astonishing rifle on a rabbit and pigeon shoot. It matches my shooting abilities with it every time. But I just fancy this PCP when FINALLY, they now look like a classical hunting rifle. Look no further than the Pro Sport! But, I'm 67 now and my guns are a hefty haul round my permissions. I still have my Daystate Huntsman Regal .177 with AirTech regulator. It's been phenominal after 10 years now but I just fancy this new FX. My instincts ars saying I should give it a miss lads. I can't be arsed with convincing myself everything will be fine and great when I'm boxing it up to return it for yet another repair and service. Oh dear what to do?? All the very best regards to you both Jimmy and Phil. Simon and Helen. Xx 1 Quote Link to post

Phil Thanks for looking deeper into this Phil. There is a very good RFD here at Woodhall Spa I think I'll have to run over and chat with him about this. See what he knows. It's not looking good really is it! All the very best mate . Simon. 1 Quote Link to post
