I’ve eaten street food in India and I was alright but my Mrs on the other hand she got extremely ill hallucinating puking shitting the full beans and the medication I got from a local pharmacy made her even worse, the locals even say never eat the pork if it’s offered it’s a fast track to the khazi.

I was in a market out there and there was a woman selling fish off the floor and she was surrounded by cow shit it’s not the most hygienic of places.

No mate a different world really in places I do love n miss India but you do have to be careful as you say, I bet it ruined your holiday that with misses

Absolutely right street food is the safest food ever I think as it's usually fresh especially if in a busy market and I also like it as there's so much choice you can get several different small meals instead of one or normal ones..

Correct as its getting a constant turnover.Plus too many of the tourist restaurants tone everything down for the foreigners.Ive always lived on street food whenever I've been to Thailand in the past, the last time we were there me and my mate were eating at some Thai womans who had a plastic table and 2chairs on a decking on the side of her house on the side of the road whilst her 2 year old kid played on the 2ft of dirt at the side of the road with lorrys flying past The food was amazing even if we never got our meals at the same time because it looked like a 2ring camping stove she was cooking on..My missus and I are planning on going to Barbados and staying at her aunts house in the next year and she's already said we'll eat at the markets or get food from one of the old girls who cook in their home kitchen and sell it in containers from a little stall in their front garden to all the locals on their lunch hour. She said the restaurants are ridiculously over priced and everything is bland and toned down for the yank tourists

Saw a few of you talking about Asian street food—if you're into that kind of thing, check out https://www.moga.com.sg . They've got loads of Singaporean eats and snacks I’d never seen before. Ended up trying their chili crab chips and some kaya toast sets. Bit different from the usual stuff I find at festivals here, but proper tasty if you're up for trying something new.
