Right I’ll explain this to you best I can . 

thermal imagery has an effective range . 

That range is established at prime conditions . 

Often those with lesser effective range are better as they have a higher clarity 

im not doubting that you can see something at 3/4 mile . But that distance would be very much at the extreme limits of anything on the market at reasonable cost. Certainly not able to have a go at

I’ve ended up going for the LH25 Hik, 1150 it was . I only need for lamping so should be more than enough for what I need

you’ll spot something the size of a hare easily at that and tell its an hare what else is sat middle of a field during the day at that size ? lol 

it will spot heat sources a right distance away
