Waz 4,293
Well Fish, this is something that intrigues me, and im for learning as much as I can regarding a swift humane kill. At this moment in time, my thinking is the trap is set too heavy, so the taupe (as we both know them ) is forcing forward before trap goes off, and the positioning of the trip or whatever, ive picked a few peoples brains on this here and elsewhere and now all my duffus have beeen tweeked, but its all work in progress. Whats traps are you using? & be interested in how the dog is getting on, give us a bell. Quote Link to post
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Fish is using Duffus type traps. And it does look as if his bars could be a tad shorter. Quote Link to post
trappa 518
The "U" shaped trigger that the mole tries to get through or knock with its back to set it off needs to be bent forward- thus triggering it when the mole is in a more acceptable position. Rolfe 2
The "U" shaped trigger that the mole tries to get through or knock with its back to set it off needs to be bent forward- thus triggering it when the mole is in a more acceptable position. Try switching from the Duffus to the Talpex trap........far more powerful spring and therefore a quicker and more humane kill......in my opinion. I use the Talpex almost exclusively now and my catch rates have increased signifficantly. Rolfe. Quote Link to post
Waz 4,293
I use the talpex along with the duffus, the spring on them talpex delivers Quote Link to post
mole trapper 1,705
Adjust the Dufffus correctly and set correctly and it delivers also. Quote Link to post
