Deker 3,478
Help please!! I need to remove a name, (Lettering), painted onto Gelcoat without damaging the Gelcoat. Cellulose thinners have been suggested, but I'm really nervous about that, I think it could damage the Gelcoat, BUT, is there a way I can dilute cellulose thinners, and if so what with?? Any other suggestions how to remove the painted name but not damage the Gelcoat. Cheers!! Edited February 17, 2023 by Deker

Deker 3,478
I've got down to 1200 wet and dry, but I'm trying not to do any damage to the Gelcoat. Its bound to need a bit of cutting after the lettering has gone, as no doubt the lettering will still show with gelcoat fading, but I really don't want to Repair the gelcoat with anything!
