I use a small key safe bolted inside a locked cabinet in the shed, works fine as a legal option and easy to get at. If you’re after something more solid or for indoor storage, take a look here best gun safe. Some good options depending on how many guns you've got or plan to keep.

In the UK things like shot guns and rimfire rifles have to be licensed and locked away in a good secure gunlocker even bullets too all hand guns in the UK was banned 1997 and only in Ireland you can have a hand gun with very good reasons in Scotland you need a license to own a air rifle I know you are in the USA so they're be rules in your country depending on state to state

Yes. That's exactly what my mate has and he doesn't even have alarms. That's with Surrey police. You just need to convince your FEO.

Yep, spot on!

Yes, a farmer friend has his .22 in his brick workshop in the yard. It's  locked and to be honest the cabinet  is pretty hard to spot amongst all the tools and "useful" junk.

A customer has his gunsafe in his Estate office, again separate from any dwelling and  inconspicuous amongst the filling cabinets.
