Slab, Or Slabs? (One For Dan?)

Wanting to put an 8 x 4' steel aviary down. Just wondering now; Concrete slab? Or paving slabs, like a tiny patio?

Can't honestly see it making a vast difference, to me. Thinking more about the builder. What'd be quickest and easiest.

Thanks.

What ya putting in it….think rats…best surface to stop them

Can't, honestly, see much difference regards rats, either way. Cage itself is rat proof. 100% steel construction.

What ever goes on the ground, they can go under it. Up to them. Won't get them far.

Anyway, the situation is such that my foxes will take care of all that. I'm just wondering if the builder may rather do a slab or pavers.

From a purely personal perspective? I can only see that pavers could be ripped up and the patch left to grow back, after I'm gone. Lump of concrete's not much of a legacy.

I said to my neighbour, Katch;  " He probably has a mini digger, to scrape that out and make it level. "

Neighbour said he'd dig it out by hand. I thought, 'Yeah. That's the sensible solution.'

So, if this kunt is thick enough to do that? He's bound to drag a little cement mixer down here too.

Maybe I should stop concerning myself and just let him do what ever he wants to. I'm just wishing he'd get a move on as it's blocking me from doing so. I have plans and wish to crack on.

Level the area, put down a blinding of hardcore between 75/100 mm and compact with a Wacker plate, knock up some shuttering into a frame from 5x1 or similar, level it with a fall from back to front depending on which direction you want the rainwater to fall then concrete, tamp and level...when it's starting to go off, trowel the edges job done?

Same principle with the sub base if you want to lay slabs, flags etc ken?

Cheers, Dan. So, I guess there's really nothing in it? Time he's faffed around with pavers and grouting and so on; Might as well just pour.

Wish he'd get his arse down here and do Something! ?

Still, these things are usually for a reason, with me. Only late last night I had a belter of an idea about how to vastly improve the 'simple box' I need to make, to go in there :)
