jukel123 9,781
Seems hypocritical to me that suddenly the ruskies are public enemy no 1. We turned a blind eye when Russian money was laundered in the UK. Much of the most salubrious properties and businesses in London are now in Russsian hands. The establishment welcomed the russians to the pig trough with a snort and a wink. Particularly the tories. Wasn't there also proven interference in the American election? If my memory serves me correctly, there was an inquiry into the possiblity of Russian influence into the referendum ? And wasn't the conclusion that nobody knows what influence Russia had, because nobody inquired or monitored their involvement? . In other words nobody gave a shit. It seems obvious to me that there are Russian influences in politics, social media and the the media in general. Welcome to the world of influencing Russia, join the foreign billionaire press barons, who of course never seek to interfere with editorial comment or political comment. And let's not forget the Youtube influencers who fill the minds of the young and impressionable with vacuous shite. Of course the russians aren't the only 'baddies' seeking to direct opinion. Its a free for all out there. With befuddled you and me trying to make some sense of the world. The world is not as simple as it once was. We are all in George Orwell's brave new world where lies are truth and vice versa. Who am I? What do I believe? Who are the goodies and the baddies? I'm going for a lie down. Feel a bit dizzy and confused.

Lol I worked for a Sheik one time, and his "fixer" was an old school tie ex diplomat. He invited me for dinner, and afterwards asked if I'd care for a brandy coffee. I said could you put the brandy in a glass and the coffee in a cup , as mixing them spoils good coffee and brandy ? I was never invited back ! Cheers.

Turns out they were adopted Asian children but nobody was supposed to know. A.Ha! I'll get my coat. Edited March 11, 2022 by jukel123 1

I got carried out of a British Consulate, blind drunk, after a Scottish pal and I bunged the Indian barman to make sure our glasses were never empty. I got a Marine escort out of an American embassy when I nutted an ex fiancé of my daughters. Funnily enough I didn't get banned from either and was welcomed back many times. I was a lot younger and sillier back then ! Cheers. 1
