Many are last years birds so letting them rear there first round. Then come end of march April should be ready to use as feeders. I've always done this. A would never trust a young none proven pair of canaries to bring on my sib goldfinches just incase they wasn't no good at rearing mate
MrsChamp606 553
Are they quiko breeders? I’m in the market for a few more double breeders, Ived got 3 doubles and did ok with the hybrids last year, Ived picked up these canaries I shared the other day and I’d like to add a few red factors and maybe some redpolls if I can find any. I had redpolls in the seventies, as well as bullies, goldies, linnets and greenies. Keep thinking about setting up again. I used to use finch fronts on the breeders. Also had borders and Gloucesters. Had twelve double breeders and indoor and outdoor aviaries. Sold the lot and every time I see these threads it sets me off again
