Who is taking the piss in this country with the pard 007s .

I can get one in France for £100 cheaper than over here  . So is it SGC taking the piss or China ?

If I buy one then I will get it sent to one of my other homes in France

Is there much difference between the 007a and 007s? I read the description and it was boasting about the S weighs less than before at 250g but the A model is the same?

I've just bought a 007a today and waiting on it being delivered from optic warehouse so fingers crossed its as good as the reviews say.

I think the new ones are shorter, and you can dip them in the river along with your rifle and wiggle the whole outfit about under the water for no apparent reason if you want to, according to the advertising video. ?

Oooo so that's why it has an extra £200 price tag?

Possibly, but I don’t claim to know much about them. Handy though, if you live near a river like I do. Strangely though, I’ve never felt the need to dip my rifle in it.....?

At least you can stalk the fishes now??

I am picking one up next week............................................not for me however, it is for my buddy.  In the US, the 007S has been on sale for some time BUT it seems that on some rifles, the bolt catches the battery although I assume the unit could be tilted to avoid that problem.  I think having the more compact unit it a much better design and keeping the scope and head more or less in the same position.

For certain it will be going on my Wildcat and Tikka for a few days before I let my pal get his hands on it.

My buddy and I picked up the 007s yesterday,  what a lovely little unit, first impression was good but that is where the compliments stop much to our joint disappointment as it was spot on in terms of being able to mount it on the scope whilst still able to keep your head in it's normal position.

We tested the 007 on four scopes, Hawke Airmax compact, Hawke Varmint, Optisan CP and MTC Mamba Light. The Mamba was very tricky to get the adaptor collar over the knurled lip of the scope to the point that it just was not practical.     On the other scopes, the image quality is really not good with strange lines coming from the outside edges into the centre where the lines disappear.  The image produced was only usable if the scope was wide open as any increase to mag, degraded the image quite a lot.

For £530 I expected the entire screen to show the viewed area but it didn't, in fact approx 25 - 30% of the right hand side of the screen was severely shaded to the point that no image could be seen.  Overall the image quality is poor and doesn't compare with a Pard 008 which is available in places for £100 more than this all singing and dancing 007s.   It seems as though the IR is not pointing true straight ahead and pointing slightly to the left.  There is a small weaver rail on top of the 007 so we popped on a Tracer IR torch which improved to overall image quality with some improvement to the shading on the right hand side of the screen, to be fair I think we could have got it better had we farted around getting the Tracer in exactly the right position BUT paying this much, the fcuking thing should be far better.

I cannot believe this new product can be this bad and suspect we have been testing a faulty unit, perhaps IanB would like to comment but whatever I am taking this unit back tomorrow as there is one more in stock so we can try that one,   fingers crossed it will be better as I really want one.
