" Jayson " says he spoke to the manufacturers and asked if he could book me a call back for today, at 19:30. I agreed. Then rescheduled my every move, to be sure I'd be sitting here, fully primed, at the appointed time. 22:15 and I get a call! UK number. Only, it's clearly being routed direct from Bangalore!!! This guy's whispering at me like he's with Ann Frank. And his accent is Absolutely Fukking Impenetrable! I Literally couldn't make out more than one word in six! Better than that? He did my all time favourite 'Addressing The Deaf Like A Kunt' thing. He'd whisper. I'd say, " I'm sorry; I didn't catch that. " So, he'd breathe exactly the same sound. Every bit exactly like he'd just done. " Sorry?! ". Whisper. " I'm sorry, this isn't the best of lines. I'm not Hearing you. " Whisper! That went on for fourteen fukking minutes, till, inevitably, he hung up without another whisper!!! I trust you have tried different discs in it? Fukked it off and went back to 7. They jacked 7, so I took the plunge and went to Linux. Found, if That messed me around? I was alone. Also, the machine I'd used for the last couple of years had No disc drive! I hadn't seen a dvd or heard a cd in years. When Linus got Too flaky? I bought this machine. And it's 10, obviously. Now, here's the full story, exactly as I'm telling Bangalore: It arrived. I put a disc in it. Nothing happened. I won't lie to ye. 10's so alien to me, I couldn't even find W Media Player. So, I got " Any Player ". Dug around. Asked. Finally got it so it'd play a disc, after my manually clicking various shit. Watched a Lot of 'Family Man'. Played a cd. Stopped to do other stuff. Accepted a Windows Update. Day later, slipped Family Man in ..... Of course I've tried other discs. DVDs and CDs. Ones I've played to death before. Nothing. It's Not a dodgy disc. I followed Kings vid, as far as Device Manager, which says it's working fine. I'm Not going to do the next bit, fukking with the Registry! I don't want Bangalore using anything to pin it on me. It's that update. Has to be! Worked ~ after a fashion ~ before it. Useless since it. I'm ringing Bangalore, during office hours, tomorrow. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I'm like, WTF?! Then, he told me to try updating the driver. Then, he said; 'Hmm. You bought this from a third party. Go and ask them.' And, that's it. That is Amazons idea of Support. Two year Warranty. And all that bullshit. They wriggle out of it in the blink of an eye. Pass the buck. I've now 'emailed' the seller. I'm to sit on my hands for a couple more days now.
