The dog kill 13 from 13 Sandy are they races normally longer previous years

I suppose it varies but in general races tend to be longer but not many hares escape at the later stages , that's partly due to the ground they run, there isn't any cover etc so the only escape is to outrun the dogs and the galgos have been bred best to best for a few thousand years. A bitch  in the line of both of mine killed 10 hares in 2 days of competition, safe to say she went on to the national. The local club runs, just your average bloke with his dogs, tend to have decent runs and lose Hares to cover such as vineyards, going to ground etc and just being run out of course, not every dog has the stamina to stay on with a good hare. The average dogs that are used for a bit of sport might not make a final but in truth they are often more interesting to watch.

The dogs that run the vineyards tend to be covered in scars, after a couple of seasons they start to look a bit like they've been through a shredder.
