The .22lr is ideal for clearing them off the pond, when they are out in the fields on the other side of the ponds you can’t get anywhere near them, so that’s where the .243 does the job very nicely ?

That will do the job, my .243 is also a fine tool for the task at hand, if we want a bit of sport from it we’ll shoot them flighting in to the ponds on an evening, but at the minute the numbers are so big this isn’t really an effective option

Funnily enough we have had a few flighting over the cottage and dropping in somewhere in the village. This morning I was in the car picking up a few things from the village shop as I got into the car, about 40 greys came over me very very low so I followed them and on the edge of the village on house has a pond, about 40' in diameter with assorted carp / koi and now 40 greys joining them. 

That is pretty crazy, flock of geese on a garden pond albeit a large garden and pond but there it is.

Did they mind you chasing the geese across their garden in your car?
