DB99 0
Hi i have an aya yeoman 12 gauge, with 70mm chambers, what is the maximum shot size that i can use in it? as i intend to do a bit of fox shooting, also what cartridges would you suggest? Cheers Edited January 9, 2008 by DB99 Quote Link to post
Guest Macnas
The shot size shouldnt matter as such, as long as the pressure generated by the particular cartridge does not exceed that to which the barrel has been proofed. Quote Link to post
Knifebar 0
Hi I have a 12 bore 3 3/4 tons per sq inch and use a 36g No. 4 for foxes, hell I also use these to dispatch Magpies (Got one this morning at 50 metres with this cartridge). I have 28g, 7 1/2 cartridges and have'nt killed anything yet with them. I would be inclined not to use anything lighter than 4's for foxes. Kniferbar. Quote Link to post

FOXHUNTER 5,020
BBs are a good cartridge for foxes , the main point is try not to shoot at foxes at range only wounding them , make sure they are close enough for a clean kill Quote Link to post

woodga 170
AAA WILL PUT EVERY FOX DOWN WITH IN 50 YRDS PLUS, IF YOU CONNECT CORRECTLY AS WILL SSG, BB ARE ALSO A GOOD KILLING CARTIDGE BUT GIVEN THE CHOICE AAA WOULD BE MY OPTION Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
I consider BB's the best shot size on fox, best combination of pattern and put down power. As for range, I say 40 yards, other folks will differ anywhere from 35-50 yards. Quote Link to post
