From looking at this any more advice that I can do to bring them on to breed. There both last year's birds so do you think that might have something to do with it ? fireman 11,487 Posted May 9, 2020 Report Share Posted May 9, 2020 Looks all good to me,maybe some cotton wool as it's sort of helped me with goldies getting going as they sort of like to play around with it so maybe triggering the nest building thing in there heads??.But leave them be mate and just make sure there's no mice or other vermin creeping about at night so your not seeing them as such,but nice clean cages and choice of nest pans so sit on your hands time really.. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Cheers mate I've got cotton wool in them nest material wheels that are above the doors. Loads of different materials I've put in. Like you say it's a sit an wait game now. I've got a lot of my birds in doors. It's built on to the side of my house mate. An a lot are in my Summer house which no mice can get in there to my other birds it's got thick rubber matting In the bottom with metal sheet plating under it that was to makesure rats don't get in lol. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Am thinking a might do that an set up a pen for them. Will give them a week see what happens if not put them in a flight. When a picked the pair up they were in an indoor flight in shed with a mixture of young redpoll's so don't know if they was bred in cages or flights Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Two at each end one in the middle an one at the right hand side at the back. He's just starting to feed her now so shouldn't be long now.
