ZEROING A 17HMR

HI.I WANT TO ZERO MY 17HMR AT 100 YARDS.BUT THE WEATHER IS TO ROUGH TO BE ZEROING OUTSIDE.I HAVE ACCESS TO AN INDOOR 50METER/57 YARD RANGE..HOW MUCH ABOVE THE CENTRE OF THE TARGET WILL I HAVE TO GO TO GET IT BANG ON AT 100 YARDS???? CHEERS

if you zero bang on at 35yds your secondary zero will be somewhere around 125yds with only 0.9 inches of rise in between. so out to 125yds you can really aim bang on. :thumbs:

Good point and good idea..depends on individual scope mounting height as well.

 

Always a good idea to remember this one but it works best the other way round (so when the weather improves check it out)...ie primary zero at say 100 yards (whatever you want), and then check and note where your first zero occurs. Once you have done this and as long as you do not change ammo, scope, moderator, etc you can theoretically alway set your 100 yard zero at the much shorter distance. I use this system for all my guns from air rifles to centrefires, very useful....... but now everyone knows a little zeroing trick!
