Not your average night out

Sitting in the house this evening I thought I’d go for a wander and have a go at a few rabbits, so I grabbed the .17hmr and off I went, when I arrived and got out the motor it was blowing a hoolie and maybe not the best of weather for the .17, I had been asked to leave the rabbits where they fell as a fox has been hitting his ducks and he thinks if there’s rabbits laying around Charlie fox will not bother the ducks, myself I’m not convinced about that but if that’s what he wants then that’s what he gets, so 13 was the bag and I took the two best home for someone who asked for a couple, I hope the land owner doesn’t mind , after I’d been there for about 30 minutes I noticed lights coming down the track from the bottom of the farm off the moor, as they made their way towards me I lit them up and they came to a stop, 4 lads on mountain bikes, I spoke to them for a while and it turns out that mountain biking in the dark is a thing, after wishing them good luck I set off to the paddocks at the back of the farm where I seen the telltale eyes of a ginger, it was about 130/140 yards away and with the way the wind was blowing I wasn’t confident in the shot and it was only heading further away so that one will have to keep for another night, by this time the rain had arrived and with the wind driving the rain I decided to call it a night

Dunno who sounds silliest, landowners feeding foxes rabbits or folk riding bikes off road at night!! Each to their own I guess...

Mountain bikes. Is their any mountains there? And how are they going to find a mountain in the dark anyway?

Poachers. Bet they are poachers!

I thought they were just out for a ride but I bet they were after my rabbits the sneaky beggars
