Underdog 2,337
Out for first light. I don't need an alarm clock, I have a granddaughter! Made the fire and brews, well, I made the brews after I cleaned the fridge! The carton of choccy milk I opened last night had leaked! Anyway still got out in time. Listened to the pheasants come off roost (can't shoot these ones) and generally watched the wildlife come alive. Never saw a fox. Shot a couple of squirrels and moved onto another farm ( where I can shoot the pheasants). Came across some birds a couple of miles further on. I ummed and ahrrred but then a 70 harder stuck his head up so I took aim. A little hold over and windage and I got a good neck shot, not bad for off hand. Another mile and I got on some crows, I love dropping a crow. You just can not fail with a 22 can you. Misses, sure, 200yds crow, 150 yd magpie and a 130yd jack saw. Shot a close squirrel low but Jess found it dead. It turned windy, a cold wind and cloudy so turned for home. Six miles I think I walked and could just go bed but the Mrs has other ideas 6 Quote Link to post

They are good generally but I just seemed to get mediocre performance when I tried them! Not tried them in this Brno though! Quote Link to post
toxo 160
The RWS are slightly slower than the Winnies which is presumably why they're quieter. I find the accuracy to be consistent. I've read a few times lately about Winnies going bang now and then. Quote Link to post

Captain slow is my nickname! 2 Quote Link to post
Rimfireboy! 1,463
Every rws .22 I’ve tried has been accurate, with the exception of rws .22 shorts, which were ok up to about 40 yards and then started to open up a bit. 1 Quote Link to post

The one box of 42max that I tried were quite accurate but on the noisy side for subs. Hard hitting, but not as accurate as rws. Quote Link to post

Hard hitting, but not as accurate as rws. Winchester quotes the same speed for the 42g as they did for the 40g which presumably means more powder and slightly louder. Quote Link to post
