Phill-W68 548
Any recommendations on a decent 3 air-rifle with scope gun cabinet, preferably with a small separate lockable compartment... Thankyou Quote Link to post

Thankyou... Forgot to mention I might be going FAC later in the new year so gun safe will have to be police approved..... Quote Link to post

Would it hold three scoped air rifles? Would it be approved if I went down the fac route? and how much? Quote Link to post
philpot 5,138
That looks like a shotgun cabinet as are most s/h cabinets. You need to buy either a much larger shotgun cabinet so you can place scoped rifles sideways on, which also gives space for shotguns as well, which I have along with another pure shotgun cabinet, or you buy a NEW scoped rifle cabinet. There are a number of cabinets on ebay that state their cabinets are suited to rifles but do not state 'SCOPED RIFLES' a subtle difference which in other words means they are shotgun cabinets. My advice to you is pay a bit more and buy one through your RFD so you know it will be suited for the job and don't worry about getting a built in top cupboard as you can buy a good quality 'home safe' for around £25, which I did, offering you the possibility of siting the 'ammo cabinet' somewhere else in the house because if you go fac and buy a rimfire, for example, you need to remove the bolt for storage so having it in a totally separate cabinet is much safer and the police like that I have found. Hope that helps Phill Phil 1 Quote Link to post
jok 3,484
Morning Phill. As Philpot says, this is a shotgun cabinet. As to holding 3 X scoped rifles, I don't rightly know. Size of cabinet is 52"" X 8" and as you can see has 2 keys. At some point this must have been approved so can't see how that would change. As regards cost. The only real problem might be weight as in cost for a courier. I live by Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire so don't know if collection is an option or perhaps a friend travelling this way for work. Anyway, I'd be happy with £25.00 for it. If this is of any use either send me a PM or on here. Jok. 1 Quote Link to post
philpot 5,138
No Jok, the scoped rifles will not fit other than one rifle corner to corner. For £25 it is a good buy for shotgunners even as a spare although some of the older cabinets will not take a 32'' barrel shotgun, that of course may not be an issue to many. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
