Buck called

Recommended Posts

Sat a double high seat yesterday evening  with my son and waited til it got cooler , watching a doe and kid in front of us out feeding . Tried a few calls and the doe came running as expected but no buck .Eventually a buck came in a field to our right chasing a doe . Few peeps had him stopped and he walked to the low fence between us but instead of hopping over he carried on up the fence line and out of view behind a large bramble patch . Carried on calling and sure enough he was heard to the bottom right of the seat , thrashing the brambles out of sight . Another quiet peep and he’s right under the seat . He got a bit nervous and half ran , half stumbled through a gate that leads to a narrow walk way through more bramble and hawthorn . George edged the rifle around to face and a gentle peep had him spin broadside for a shot to which he piled deep into the trash and went silent . Very good shot under pressure from George and a porous dad  once again .

You obviously set the seat up in the right place! Nice work ?

The seat overlooks the only decent large field there mate ..I keep thinking about  moving it but every now and then even the worst sited seat pays off
