One of my bitches dislocated her toe tonite i popped it straightback in but went back in with no resistance at all ??  same foot she had toe removed 2seasons ago!! So off to see boneman tomoro if i can get appointment. Gutted!! Gave her some metacam & it seems to be staying in so far but very swollen.  Just got her going again after having stopper pad removed. May have to retire her now ? she’ll be six in feb. Too fast for her own good. Atb

I have a dog with a broken inside toe and this exactly what worries me if i have it amputated it will maybe put too much pressure on the other toes causing other problems .....

Nail wants cutting back to the quick to try and relieve any pressure/swelling around the joint and soak in ice water for first few days is what i would be doing. If its definitely dislocated pm me and ill tell you a couple ways that can make the healing process faster. Hope the bitch recovers for ya ??

Just been to see Mick (bone man) he confirmed what i thought he popped it out & back in again while examing her. She’s ripped the tendons on one side of it & outside toe on other side of amputated toeshowing signs of tendon damage & turning in due to excess pressure from missing toe. Got to bone radiol it 4 days on 3 days off for 4weeks to tighten up tendons. Looks like her running days are over!!! Gutted. She’s a very fast full on bitch when working so chances are she’ll keep injuring it if run again!!! Atb

Well its seems a common thing then as mine according the vet has a broken toe and it has fused back together. He won't be seeing the lamp this year again and we will see how it fairs next season. Just a bit of ferreting because around here day time work is just a short dash and and that is it really. I am in no rush to have it off as you can't undo that and we will see how it is after a summer of doing not a lot. Good luck folks with your dogs and there recovery
