neil b 2,504
I was starting to run low on rabbit for my litter of kits so this morning saw me venture to a local spot with longnets, lurcher one hob to the said litter of kits, I had been there midweek with my little lad seeing what was about, he was keen to try his new hunter wellys on so kill 2 birds with 1 stone and all that. This morning I was away well before he had woken up. First mark produced 4 rabbits, although 1 was half grown and managed to get through the net, onto another mark round a nettle bed, another quick bolt and another in the bag. It was only when I was picking my longnets up realised how lucky I am to regular hunt open fell and moorland you name it it was tangled up in them.onto another mark and another rabbit in the bag the last mark was in a big wood pile as soon as I slipped the big hob into it a little wren sat ontop of the pile calling all the time to the preditor working underneath him another rabbit to add to the tally 5 in total, that should keep the kits fed for a while at least.
