Do you keep her cocked for as long as... or cock as and when a bird hits the pack? I would assume cocked until a bird arrives, but how long is to long for a older rifle...?

 

Then again, you might be like me, pellet in the breech, but cock the rifle when I see one hit the tree.

No Rez, I hate sitting with a ready cocked springer - waiting, unless I know something is going to present itself very shortly.

I don`t sit with the 100`s cocked as the cocking action makes rabbits sit, bolt upright every time :good: ( when your hidden).

On the decoying for pigeon, you see them coming in, most times and I cock the rifle the same as you mate, as and when they present themselves.
