Chick Rearing And Magpie

I've ordered so Redleg partridge, English partridge and pheasant (day olds). Can any of them be reared together? If not why not? Also does anyone have a magpie in the Wiltshire area?

Pheasants definitely not with partridge but the red and grey no probs together .The pheasants really need seperating into two groups as well ,colored and plain .Gas makes them worse unless you know what your doing .

I've cut the partridge then as that's extra work. Do you mean cocks and hens by coloured and plain? If so why?

How much space do you need per bird in their outside pen?

No just separate the coloureds from the plain mate .A mix of both usually has one type or another feather pecked to distraction .Rearing them seperate seems to alleviate this not stop it as they are aggressive little fuckers .Have you reared any before mate as you seem a bit at a loss on it all .If you are in wilts pm me and maybe I could pop over and look at your setup .You say you are ordering day olds mate ,they are time consuming and need a fair setup rather than 8 week old poults to wood .
