Advice On Building Please!

Recommended Posts

I am trying to get a new storage/workshop built at work. Boss says I need to give him a rough idea of price, so can any of you folks give me a bit of advice please

Shed needs to be about 30 foot by 30 foot, about 9 foot tall. Must be timber but I don't know what is cheapest, maybe inch ply if it is treated properly? What about marine ply? Roof material doesn't matter, but again cheap is good.

Needs to sit on a concrete base.

I know those details are a bit sketchy, but as i have no firm plans it would be interesting to see if you lot had any ideas. Perhaps there are some sort of kit forms available, or agricultural buildings?

thanks!

Why not go for a 2nd hand 40ft container. Or even 2 X 20ft containers side by side. Save a load of grief and a load of money. Jok.

we did ask about that, but the estate managers said it needs to be timber to fit in with "theming", whatever that means. I think it means they want it to look nice. :hmm: I did suggest we could clad it in timber but they want it timber built

use osb to your framing then clad it in tin same for roof , you could use 4x2 or 6x2 for your studing and insulate inside. youd need roughly a 18.5ft rafter each side there for needing perlings around the middles of your rafters, or you could get trussed rafters delivered. if yous are making it yourselves it could save a fair bit on labour. or just use metal framing and tin but gets cold and condensation inside like a barn
