Guest little lurcher
here is lucy a saluki whippet grey ( we think) she is approx 18mths old and has a snare injury which the vets origanlly thought she would have to have the foot removed as when she was found the foot was extremely swollen and her toe nails had to be removed due to pressure and infection, she came to me as a favour for my vet who was here stemming and dressing a ruptured vein on my big bitch at 4am !!! he wanted her to go to a working but loving home and he wanted me to have her to do the job she was bred for , she is excellent with kids , was ready to eat my cats ut now fine with them, she has seen the lamp and seems to know the job but i wont work her til she is fully healed her foot Quote Link to post

Guest little lurcher
looks like she was very lucky with the nails being removed will this effect her in any way apart from gripping the ground? she is now on off lead exercise and running with whippets ,lurchers& italian greyhounds it can be very fast and furious!! but at the min she is having no troubles whatsoever with her grip? the nails will hopefully grow back but will all take a long time . so far her recall is perfect and when she did comeout for a look on lamp she did show signs she had done it before i hope to put a few pics on later in season to show a catch or two maybe Quote Link to post
weejohn 3
are you anywhere near scotland as i would love to see the italion greyhounds, do you use them for hunting and how do they compare speed wise to a whippet? i have seen a couple of clips of them on youtube and look lightning quick off the mark but do look quite fragile.
