vizlauk 1,568
Well I've tried 3 different versions of night vision now; from gen 1; to digital n550 & the latest photon xt; I much prefer to use a lamp mounted to a normal day scope; I've just sold my xt complete with night master 400ir along with the fully adjustable mounts that I bought for it; I'm sticking with the lamp from now on; so I'm after a good scope to put on my hw100kt ; anyone got anything sensible priced to sell ? villaman 9,982
With most dedicated NV units it seems you need to add some kind of doublers . When i first got a Pulsar N550 5 years ago i thought it was good but something was missing , so added a sony doubler and never looked back and now i have it on the N870lrf. My mate has just got a Pulsar N970 LRF and once again needs a doubler , my other shooting mate has new photon and once again had to put a tele focus lens on it to make it any good and IMO and my other shooting mates the photon is still not that good with it on , trouble is after looking through the 870lrf or the 970lrf with a doubler on everything look pretty bad Quote Link to post

It's the whole thing about having your eye on the rubber boot ; the comfort and the vision mate; I like the vision through a normal scope ; the comfort of holding and shouldering the gun which is natural : not shoving my eye into a nv unit it's just not for me . 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
Does take a bit of getting use to . but it's not for everyone good luck with the scope and lamp Quote Link to post
Rabid 1,936
I have a doubler that I used on my 550, for rabbits on the rimmy it was needed, but for air rifle use I found it better without it. Quote Link to post
