I met a guy that had a interesting way of hunting game in the bush he used a e-caller to bring in game and installed of shooting it right off with let his dog go after it he said the reason was that his dog was fast enough to catch and kill it or bay it until the man could get so close that he could not miss he said that the reason he did it that way was the animal was put down or got away clean was wondering does anyone see a problem working that way I am thinking maybe our next dog we get might be useful for that kind of work

The guy used a kind of dog we call a cur and he mostly goes after foxs

If it's foxes why not get a lurcher and you won't need a gun and the right one will take other game aswell

Well I would be surprised if the old man knew what a lurcher was and the cur is a kind of dog that was fist breed in our area it was seen as a all-round fur hunting dog that would be just about as fast as a lurcher but could also track and since most of our areas is heavier cover a good tracking dog can be a good one
