long nets or purse nets

Recommended Posts

Guest little_lloyd

It all depends ;)

I like to purse net warrens up then surround it with a longnet so any that net slip,,, hit the long nets!!

Or if its a patch of gorse/ brambles then i would put the long net around as it is hard to net with purse nets!!1

what is better purse or longnets. where will i get some and how are they used??? thanks

thats a lot to answer in one post,

both are good at doing there intended job, if you turned up with just longnets and found a 4 holer, you'd be f*cked really, and the same goes with purse nets, turn up with 25, you'll need 35 or a long net,

so get both over time, by the sound of it, from what your asking, your a total newbie, nothing wrong in that, if you can find someone local to you, that can show you the ropes, get in there,

asking the above question, does that mean you already have ferrets??, cos if not, you'll just need a long net, and then look in the long netting section for advice,

id say, get yaself down the libary, or search e bay for some cheap books,

1 on keeping ferrets

1 on hunting with ferrets

I'm guessing you haven't ferreted before so my advice would be to get a couple of dozen purse nets and start to learn the ways of ferrets and rabbits FIRST. Get out in the field, lay your nets and see what happens! You may catch a few, some may get away, but you'll start to learn the ways of ferrets and more importantly rabbits.

Knowleadge of quarry and good fieldcraft will catch you more than a certain type of net ;)

Good luck
