marshman 7,758
My old fathers disabled and got a few things wrong with him and not been well of late . So what with Christmas coming I'll be making a bit of a fuss of him . I got to thinking about the last time I went out with him coursing it was the year of the ban , the ban never would've stopped him going but he's bitch died and he's health started to go and He couldn't walk the plough like he used to. Anyway it wasn't a day where anything fantastic happened but it was a day that has stuck with me all the time. For some reason I was at a lose end and he said fancy a walk out so we went to a place that he coursed as a teenager . On the drive there he'd tell me stories about the runs he's had there with he's mates , I've heard them all before but always loved the excitement he got retelling them you can see him in he's mind watching the run again every twist n turn. We gets to the place and it was a bright clear but cold day . My dads butch was a near miss of a greyhound and I had a dog that I give £45 for from a man in Essex lol. Like I said nothing fantastic happened we had a run a piece with my youngster catching he's first hare and my fathers bitch missed one . The skylarks where singing and it was a pleasure to be out . On the way home we had something to eat in a pub and a couple of pints . I don't know why it sticks with me but it does so I thought I'd share lol atb lads Mm ? 12 Quote Link to post
