Winter Shooting

Recommended Posts

Out as much as poss, not flying a hawk this year so its the gun, be it air rifle, shotgun, or rifle, oh and a spot of ferreting, duck shooting be it inland or on the foreshore is taking precedence at the moment, but I seem to have unlimited squirrels around this year so the air rifle is out a lot, foxing at night with the .243 just need to put a deer or two in the freezer now, oh how fuc*in work gets in the way.

We had a touch on the tree rats on Sunday. Got pissed wrapped late afternoon but the day was made with a decent bit of sport and good banter.

As for Deer. The freezers full

Never eaten one Mark but I also believe they are very boney, I'm very happy to have a good fight and let them go for another day. With all the rain today the rivers will be murky so no good for lure fishing and I can't be arsed sitting with dead baits all day so the shooting will take first place as soon as the back lets me until the waters clear then shooting and pike fishing will be shared time for me.

Without me getting a yellow card, I know I'm walking on egg shells, why don't you have a f'kin like button...? You do post some good replies... now and then.

Must admit to getting out more with the rifles now it's darker earlier , if I'm out during the day it's usually with the shotgun , but I like the lamping and being dark early lets you leave earlier I feel as long as most things have had a hour to a hour and half to settle down after dark they will be out . Lamping during the summer is a pain in the butt it turns into a night shift as you can't get out till late and often are out till the wee hours where as now if you want you can be home for last orders
