Spring Pole

Recommended Posts

Yeah I made one in my old house for the Staffords......... they loved it too, I could walk them for an hour and come home and they'd still be hyper, put them on the 'spring pole' for 15 mins and they were F*CKED!!! ( as said before tho make sure the back legs are touching the floor and always supervise them, I also put a rubber mating under mine as my one was on concrete slabs and found they kept spliting there pads open)!

I use one on my older dogs never a pup. I like to teach my young dogs to bite with a full mouth. So i do alot of rag work with them till there older or flirt pole. Otherwise the spring the pole will teach them to bite with there front teeth.

The spring pole if worked properly will work the neck, chest, jaw. Great tool i think. The flirt pole is another awesome tool for pups. It helps build the prey and gives good exercise while teaching the bite. But alot of folks will let them grab and start working it. Your supposed to grab the rag and have him or her rebite in to have a full mouth bite then let him work it. Alot of folks dont do this..bite development is a great thing if done properly. It can make a soft dog bite harder and a hard biting dog bite harder..

The mind boggles why its needed to be honest or is it for lazy owners .

Helps with fitness, neck and jaw strength and power development

They're actually a really good tool. Certainly in Bulldogs a lot of people believe there aren't many curs... Just unfit dogs.

Being unfit will make some dogs give up when they're not hurt, just tired. Same in humans if you've ever fought?

It's another tool in your Arsenal; like hand walking, like carpet or slat mills, like a flirt pole, like the right diet etc

Ive just never heard them used for terriers .Fitness is all that is required in a terrier ,the rest will come about through work when of an appropriate age for which there is no physical preperation required other than fitness and the right mental attitude .If it makes you feel good Lee then crack on but not many lads will be doing that for sure .
