Just A Phone Call

By a chance phone call my ferreting partner had with one of his customers resulted in getting in touch with a keeper of 4000 achers of moorland, So a date was set and off we went, a 2 hour drive, a wild goose chase thanks to the sat nav we reached our destination, met the keeper, he showed us a few places shook hands, pointed to his boundaries and said help yourself...... result! So we got locators ready and we were off by the looks of the terrain we would only be needing long nets so with a basket each off we went, the first set gave us 9 then another set and another 11 a quick 20. We were seeing rabbits dropping into places everywhere we looked, we ended the day with 36we took 3 youngsters that hadn't seen any rabbits so far by the end of the day they certainly know what one is now, these are my two . Then to top it off rang keeper to tell him how we had got on, he was delighted,said we were more than welcome back anytime next time he will show us the hotspots, we thanked him with a bottle of whiskey and a side of smoked salmon.
