Large Numbers Of Pinks

Out today moving some partridge feeders ....just to show yous what numbers of geese we have ...saw some huge new skeins coming in from Greenland yesterday and there will be an influx with this full moon coming...

The video doesn't do it justice there were more on the ground that what was in the air ....will have a do maybe Friday

Not sure of the numbers around Loch Leven at the minute but was working that way today and seen some massive skiens. Geese dropping in everywhere.

I will try and get a video of them dropping into Montrose basin too roost ....it is one of the wildlife wanders in the uk seeing the vast numbers like this ....I heard today thT there's over 100,000 in already but will try and find out whT the last count was

Was there a few years ago when there were estimated 80,000 pinks coming in. It made the BBC news that evening.

 

Was by the church watching them come in, nothing short of spectacular.

I can remember before the basin or backies as us locals call it was a nature reserve ....my old man taking me out on the mud as a kid at that end which was very popular especially in a North wind ....there used to be a light at the grave yard that gave you something to head for when coming off the mud after a night flight

Theres loads the now Lab there flying over us all day and well into the night

Back at Milnathort today and a constant stream of them moving. Good to see..??
