Welsh_red 4,324
My Mrs helps out with the beavers kids group and the scout leader is taking his scouts out next weekend camping and has asked me if I can get him a few rabbits to take with him so the boys can be shown how to skin and gut them , then their going to cook them up . How should I store them for him? I've got a fridge freezer in the shed running that has little bits in so no problem storing them in there but wondering if rabbits left in a fridge for a week (I was planning on getting them this weekend) would spoil as they would be fully intact . Other way was freezing them until Wednesday or Thursday for him then moving them to the fridge to thaw out. I always skin and gut In the field before I get to the car so I'm kind of stumped as to the best way to do it for the guy .

gnipper 6,001
Are you going to shoot or ferret the rabbits?
Welsh_red 4,324
Going to shoot them . Might be a case of Me having to paunch them and just leave the fur on for them to have a go at
jok 3,042
Welsh. Did this for our local group. They had 9 rabbits which I paunched and left otherwise intact. The idea is for them to learn about prepping for the outdoor fire or pit. By all accounts they loved the experience. I just bagged them into the fridge for a couple of days. No dramas.
