One recoil too many it seems. Bolts sheared off and separated the barrel from the stock. Maimed the damn bird and had to send the dog out to retrieve so I could dispatch it by hand.

 

Suppose I'm now in the market for a proper gun.

I've heard about this happening on air rifles with a harsh recoil. Don't get disheartened, you've been happy with it up 'till now.

 

If there's no other damage, buy some quality stock bolts and, maybe, lay some innertube rubber between the stock and action to dampen the effect.

I'll call in and see if the manufacturer wants to make it right. Otherwise ill have to drill the broken bolt and replace with some quality hardware. From what I've gathered a lot of the screws and such are Chinese made.
