The 3rd Mid-Ulster Whippet Derby final was ran today at the Brandywell Race Track with Susan McCann's Bella winning in a new Brandywell Whippet Track Record of 20.58 secs!!! Congratulations to Susan and Bella on winning and to all the competitors for a fine race.

 

Sincere thanks to the Brandywell Dog Track for accommodating the race, their hospitality and sponsorship of the presentation jacket. Thanks also to Martin Lavery Pet Foods for sponsoring the dog nuts, The Great Game Fairs of Ireland for covering the entry fees and to Drumbo Park for sponsoring the Perpetual Cup.

 

Finally, many thanks to all those who entered their dogs in the Derby, your continued support for the event is much appreciated.

Thank for a great day yesterday bella had a ball Tom and it was good to see her race again she still got it but her time was 19.90 lol but was a great day and I would just like to thank the brandywell for having us be back next year

From what I've seen on Facebook and elsewhere it appears to have been a great day - well done Tom on your initiative. Delighted to give a little sponsorship - as you know although the sponsorship pot is running a little dry after the number of events, people, clubs we have sponsored this year - we are always willing to listen to requests for assistance for innovative sporting events or those linked to charity.
