skycat 6,174
Looks like a lot of good grub there! Bet the dogs will enjoy it: or do you eat it yourself? Is that Ollie in the pic? That's good going for a (I think, but can't be bothered to read your previous posts that will tell me how old she is) middle aged lurcher. Apologies if she isn't yet middle aged! Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
This is just IMO but I think anything under 22" may struggle to see the hares if its in thick heather? but on shorter stuff should do reasonably well, most lurchers can catch whiteys, Ive only seen a couple over the years that couldnt, but Ive noticed smaller, more finely made dogs can struggle a little in the really thick stuff, and when they come out onto the thinner stuff the dogs gain on the hares again, whereas the stronger types dont seem to have any bother in the rough stuff. Ollie is rising 8 and this is her last season. She has worked non stop from the age of around 6 months and has accounted for thousands of rabbits, hundreds of hares and has only had one major injury in all that time, a broken toe which she sustained retreiving a whitey at the start of the year on a rocky ravine, she has never let me down yet and will be a very difficult bitch to replace Quote Link to post
