Trev70 5,185
First filming I did of the whippet at 12 month old on some wheat and grass at York. The fawn lurcher was a good lamping and ferreting bitch till she threw in the towel at 4 year old, she was beddy x whippet x saluki x greyhound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVnv_1YEKI8 Quote Link to post

Blueboybilly 164
Good on you. I'm always pleased to hear it when whippets from pet and show homes go into the field and do really well on rabbits. Ped whippet is 13 months now and a bit to playful and puppyish but man has he got some fire in his little belly! Going to start him on the lamp just before the start of next season I think. I have got really high hopes for him! For now the Beddy, whippet,Greyhound is showing him the ropes! atb Quote Link to post

She did 3 good seasons on rabbits doing good numbers day and night 2 to 3 times a week, we was going to have a litter out of her the next time she had a season but then she started to pic and chose her runs, if it looked a bit of hard work she wouldn't run it, it got to the point were if the rabbit didn't get up in front of her she wouldn't run it, she would just stand and watch them run off. Had her checked out and she was fit and well, it was all in her head. Some don't think a dog will quit on rabbits like some don't think a good ferret will quit on rabbits but when your doing good numbers you will be surprised how many do. Sirblessed 2,511
I hope I never find out, I am semi retired and ferret 2 or three times a week now, number caught varies, I have a new pup ¾ whippet ¼ stag bitch 5 months old ( I have always started them young ) showing a lot of promise my old whippet just retired 14 yrs old, arthritis got him now not to mention he is part deaf and blind sad to see him not be able to come anymore.
