Lump Under Chin

Recommended Posts

My 1 year old hob has a small lump under his chin/throat area, I think it's where I introduced A new Jill into the run they had a good scrap.

Could it be from where the Jill hand him by the neck as I can see small puncture wounds.

How's best to treat it or is it a vets job?

Sounds like an abscess ,,,

Should pin this topic,,comes up all the time,,,,

Assuming it is an abscess ,,,put him in a cage on his own,,,dissolve an amoxicillin tab in a drinking bottle,,you might have to crush it up,,,a small amount of warm water in the empty drinker,,,then add your crushed tab,,,it will discover easier in warm water,,,but not boiling water....then top the drinker up with cold water...

Feeding,,,break a tab in to 4 ,,,and feed one of these quarters every day mixed in to feed,,,it's easier to use some mince or cat food somthing that you can mix the powder in to,,,only give it a small amount of food,,,cos you want it to eat every bit...

Do this for a week to ten days

I only had 500mg tablets but I didn't use the whole cabsel as I thought it might be too much for him so I used about half mixed in with a small amount of mince so he would eat it all at once and after 3-4 days I noticed a big difference and its all cleared up now
