2 Out Of 3 Aint Bad

Recommended Posts

Any of you guys got three dogs, two that listen to a point and one that does what ever he f**king wants?!

We have a lab and two westie terriors. Only pets. When I walk them there is one terrior that I keep on the extenda lead because he doesnt listen. recently he has been doing well, not going to full extent, coming back when told and waiting/stopping when told SO tonight I thought I would leave him off the lead (we live down a dirt track in sticks), walked out the gate with all three got 200 yards from house had a look around....only two. Left them two doing what they wanted in the fields because I trust em, walked back to gate.....no sign in the lane....walked up the drive, no sign in the first bit of garden.....checked next bit of garden and he is stood at the ferret hutch! All tense and tail bolt upright. Little Sh*t! On the lead you go boy.

He has had no different upbringing or training to the other two. I guess some just dont listen. Too much prey drive me thinks!!!!

My old Lakeland was a b*****d ...she was fine off lead if you was right on her , the second you took your eyes of her she was gone ....normally her destination was the stables across the field and its plentiful supply of sport unless she found something else that needed sorting on route ..This could be anything from mice to bloody cats or fox , followed a scent like a bloodhound .Named Worry she lived the name ..sadly p.t.s.last weekend at 17 . Little dog , huge character ..

I've got a lurcher and 4 small terriers. All good off the lead, except one of the little 'uns. I've tried every bit of advice and training all to no avail......she disappears over the horizon without looking back !

I've given up and just keep her on a lead !

Trouble is the ones with a mind of their own/determination usually make the best dogs, like an old mate of mine says "you can't lose shite" The best terriers i had were the ones that always got in trouble one way or another, so i tend to agree with him?
