mole trapper 1,706
I have one of these in the synthetic, I get on okay, ish with it, I'm now considering getting another but in wood. Seems to remember someone on here is a big advocate of this set up? If I get one it will be v-machd or similar to get the shot cycle as sweet and user friendly as possible. Anyone used both synthetic and wood .177 versions? Is there a vast difference. Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
HW87? You might have a rifle from HW I have never seen. Upload some images of it. If on the other hand you mean a 97, then I have a stainless in .22, which originally came with a synth stock, but I didn't get on with the thumbhole positioning when shooting it as a recoiling rifle. My own is v-glided, done recently, it was v-mached before that and was for a number of years so its beddin in just right. Its the best rifle I own and have ever owned. I personally found that wood felt better to answer your question, though its a tad heavier. Just re read my reply only to see it made no sense whatsoever so re wrote that last bit. Quote Link to post
mole trapper 1,706
Thanks Rez! Yep typo! I am quite happy for it to be heavy, soak up a little bit more of the recoil. Having said that, my synthetic is not terribly resonating when fired. Obviously your one is .22, so will be sweeter shooting. Quote Link to post
