Munjack + Collies Lol

Recommended Posts

went for nice walk today with my dogs, the place I went got few munjack knocking about, but norm don't see them. well both my dogs were mooching in the woods, when Buck came flat out chasing munjack, bloody hell was he close on it, he dived at it and he landed on some logs, it some how got away . it only happened in less than min, but bloody hell thought me heart jumped out of me mouth lol. Anyway things started to settle down, when a bloke with what looked like a brown collie was at the top of this hill by the wood. Bryn just stood and looked at it, but fooken Buck went flat out after it, I thought Christ he must know it a dog, I shouted him as loud as I could. He got up to it quick then stopped thank god, just had a look then came back to me with his tail in the air, I think he was still bit wound up lol, norm he soft as shit with people+dogs, which he still is maybe he need to go to speck savers lol

Seen the same with fox and solid red cocker spaniels many moons ago. I was picking up with my colliex at the time. Charlie broke out of the covert and I slipped her. Finished it off in short time. SHe was the type of dog that took a while to come down from a tussell, so to speak, and within a few minutes she spotted some red critter busting down a bracken bank. My dogs' off, and at the last second the red cocker barks at her. I have not seen such a confused lurcher in a long time. That keeper, who's dog it was , never lets me forget it. And its 15 years ago!

They WERE great sport for dogs. The Bullxs love them. The good thing is you can have a good hunt in cover and a good run in open and it never ends up miles away with them. It takes a strongish dog to handle a good buck aswell....theyre not for whippets anyway. Your Alsation cross should do ok with them (if the law changes) and they usually have good noses dont they?the alsations or german shepards.

yeh my dog got great nose on him,and he great in cover for a big dog. and your right regards this x 1 x gsd x grey they got some bloody power to them+ very strong jaw , his size as deff came in handy when bumped into stuff when lamping lol. And your right with munjack there not going to take him 2-3 fields away, where last time in the day, he chased some fallow and was gone 1 bloody hour , its real bad crack that , as you never know if the dog bumps in a trigger happy farmer or keeper . I have to be very careful with Buck as when he in the hunting mode he very full on
