Guest joe ox
I use betadine spray, ointment or liquid solution to clean wounds. I use hibiscrub to wash my hands before I touch the wound. Witton keep it CLEAN and bath it twice a day, if your mate can staple get him to put a few in but leave a drain at the bottom. The vets will insist on putting it under and charge you a small fortune for doing it and IMO it is not necessary. Quote Link to post

gaz 284
As well as keeping the wound clean bud if its to be left open to heal, also make sure she beds down in a clean enviroment ie clean blankets ect and i would try to avoid straw or paper for obvious reasons Quote Link to post

Guest tawny
ok its a skin rip not big and dont realy need stitching. one off the best ways to help it heal is to leave it alone. washing it in anything dont realy help the healing progres. a good bed of flufy wood shavings, the type you get in bales, will help scab it up in no time, Quote Link to post
