Can you answer this question for me? Can you put a snare in the opening of a rabbit hole? if not how far away does it need to be? Just I'm being told two things

they are best set out on a run

Yes as said, you'd have more success on run's! The rabbit needs to be traveling to hit the snare propper! Lots of info on here if you search, showing where to set the snare, beats, hight of snare, size of loop e.t.c!

So am I right in thinking you can put them on the hole but best to put on a run?

As said you can put then in the hole but there better of on the runs , you can see where there getting used the rabbits are often travelling at speed which helps them get caught , in a burrow they might no use every hole and if the do they come out slowly checking there's no danger to them outside the hole so might see and move the snare
