Wembley Parking.

Controversial.....but do you reckon that......Wembley was personally better off left well alone?

I haven't been to the new one, I was in the vicinity Saturday actually but chose to stay out of London itself....

But having been to the old ground, and the millennium at Cardiff.....the difference for the fans was amazing, also I liked that when England played on the road...St James, villa park wtc, there was a better atmosphere at the games...

I would have liked the ground to have had its day as for a northerner, itwas too much hassle....

Typical English f a , too afraid to move their corporate bollocks out of London, perhaps if they concentrated their business in the home of the real powerhouse of English football, the North, the game may improve domestically....just a thought?[/quote Wembley is only three hours from me ..hardly a bad trek..I travel further for a weekend hunting regularly during winter..

The old Wembley was a bit of a dump if truth be told but it had an aura about it,as a spectator it was pretty crap, too far away from the pitch, those old bench seats in the lower tiers were horrible, poor facilities etc.......but the twin towers were iconic and although the new arch is certainly an architectural statement it doesnt have the same sporting romance........obviously the new Wembley is a far superior stadium but it doesnt do it for me,grounds with escalators put me in mind of shopping precincts rather than footie grounds.....i also miss watching the players climb the steps to lift the trophy which you dont get to see at the new Wembley....i think the Millenium is a better ground to watch sport and i agree with Stiffmeister it was great when England went round the country playing at Old Trafford/St James Park etc......it gave everybody a chance regardless of geography.......saying that though to have our national stadium anywhere other than our capital would just be wrong in my opinion.

I dont think your average Scouser/Manc is too concerned about International football they are too wrapped up in their " big clubs " to worry about England......you find just as many Preston,Barnsley or Wigan fans following England abroad or at Wembley as anyone else.......for some fans following England just isnt important enough im afraid.... mostly the ones who get all patriotic when it comes to celebrating Eid or getting shot of Muslims funny enough !
