Took these whilst out walking the dogs on Wisley Common, got three horse fly bites for my trouble though. These are my favorite things to photograph. Dragons in flight, they are stunning creatures to watch and with a bit of practice with manual focus they are reasonably easy to get flying.

This female was being chased by the male, never got a female in flight until this one.

I had someone telling me British wildlife isn't "exciting" like you get abroad the other day.

I'd love to beat him over the head with these pics. Fantastic shots of an amazing creature

LOL and thanks.

Last spring I was in a local field talking with a pro photographer with big (500mm lens) whilst out walking my muts. He said there was a big lack of wildlife this year and he was wasting his time, I pointed out a barn owl about 300m away, a Roe Deer in the next field and a fox on the towpath nearby. In the same field I have seen a Cuckoo, Short Eared Owl, Little Owls, Kestrels, more deer, pheasants, Voles, loads of Damselflies, Dragonflies, Butterflies and loads of birds I did not ID.

It is out there you just have to look at the right time.

People just don't take the time to slow down and appreciate what's going on around them these days. Even a little suburban garden can be alive with all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures, you just need to take the time to look
