shropshire dan 467
Sounds good. He wanted a grand for the setup. Only done 100 rounds. He gave me £650 for my .22-250 setup and I gave £350 cash. Bargain Quote Link to post

shropshire dan 467
Cheers Hunter1 looking forward to getting it. In fact I'm more excited about this rifle than any other firearm I've ever bought. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I think you will like .243 over the 22-250. Frankly I have never really understood the 22-250, the .243 does everything and more that a .22-250 can, with a much wider choice of ammo at no extra money generally. They are a pussycat to shoot and have a much wider field of use, as a long range fox round with the right ammo there is nothing to touch them in my view. Obviously there are some areas/jobs a 22-250 must come into its own, but I run .223 and .243 and with those the 22-250 is a waste of space for me. Edited July 11, 2015 by Deker Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Thanks Deker. I did love my .22-250 to be honest but want a do it all deer calibre. I did have a deposit on a new Ruger American but then I handled the steyr and everything changed lol. It's stunning and the scope seems nice aswel. Gutted the scope hasn't any aim points but I suppose I'll see how I get on with it. Any tips on ammo? wanted to try hornady 75 g btsp first aswel as the 58g superformance which has very similar ballistics to my .22-250. Quote Link to post

It's the same old story with ammo, you will need to try a few to see what works best for your rifle and quarry. My T3 .243 seems very happy with weights between 55g-90g, not so keen on 100g, but the difference it makes will not usually change the outcome of the shot. 90g PRVI SP works for me as an all rounder in the .243, that delivers 1" all day and is plenty good enough for me and field work when it is a .243 arriving. (I tend not to use more than one or two different types of ammo in rifles generally, I will tend to change calibre more than ammo if I need much difference, but I have a few to select from!) Using 55-58g ammo makes it incredibly easy/gentle to shoot! Quote Link to post
