mark williams 7,568
Nice write up Mac but i`m thinking of leaving the springer decision for still longer after this week reading your experiences . Your Crow Sport is gone, you rave about the 97 and but the dont `alf "twang" a bit - so what would these springers be like in the "superior" .177 what would the "twang" be like compared to .22 ? Probably more pronounced would you think ? I hope some of the lads will give some advice on the recoil given by these rifles in .177 also. Nice to see you enjoying and shooting these rifles well Mac. atb SHIT :tongue2: Looks like your in for some HW 100 tales then in .177 " "TWANG !" " Quote Link to post

charlie caller 3,654
You can get rid of the twang just as easily in .177, however they will always be a bit snappier to shoot, but with a quicker lock time, I find most .177 springers benefit from a heavy silencer or muzzle weight to reduce flip, all except the 99s which for some strange reason does not seem to suffer muzzle flip despite being so light 1 Quote Link to post
