downsouth 8,354
Isn't there a lot of Flint etc in the ground in Kent been digging up there a couple of times was quite hard going. Will be here before you no it just get dogs fit and ready it's normally still hot as f**k in sept so could be waiting longer just to rub it in ha ha haDepends what part mate.Travel a mile in one direction from my house and it's the worst chalk and flint you could imagine travel 1 mile the other way it's sand then as you go further towards the coast it's clay and then peat.Just my luck 75% of my permission was in the hard stuff. downsouth 8,354
Makes for better dogs mateseen a few superstars from other areas quit in the hard stuff (dogs and diggers)When you've got a dog getting results week in week out in that stuff you can be pretty confident on taking it anywhere for a dig.It can be a right pain for getting pups started though. 1 Quote Link to post
francolin 449
You need to be careful putting pics up of your ground as someone might recognise it , be a shame to wait until iSeptember only to find someone else has run there dogs through before you get thereYou can never stop local lads from going on your permission and I think its wrong to try,we all start off in our own area,s and without transport as a kid its all we know, I quite often catch kids and lads on my permissions and normally end up letting them help me ferret or get them to meet me on a different day to help out, remember local lads can go when they like where as most have to travel to permission, WM you cant stop kids, and who would want to,,local lads will have walked that land for years so fair enough, its all us keyboard warriors he don't want running all over the spot 1 Quote Link to post
